Slotting in at 5th in our 2022 Top Seller's list is the ALOHA LURES Large Magic Malolo.
This drumstick shaped bullet made some major noise in 2022 to say the least. The Large size, which is the 12" version of the Magic Malolo, first released publicly near the end of March. Despite consistent shipments throughout the spring and summer, we struggled to keep any sort of stock in our shop - Web drops ended in a lot of "sold outs".
The Magic Malolo craze started for us in the fall of 2021 before our 1st release. Capt. Chris Donato had been pulling them on a regular basis at the tail end of the 2021 season, catching a ton of Marlin on them. Chris was insisting that we try to get these in as soon as possible as he was very confident in this bait and knew we could sell a lot of them.
Once we received notice of their arrival, we knew this would be a good lure to do a review for our YouTube channel with Chris's experiences and love for the lure and simultaneously released the review along with the 1st release of the Magic Malolo.
We highly recommend you check out the full review, but here are a few bits of info from the review. Chris mentions that this would be a great bullet for a more Novice fisherman. It's weighted great and will give you an excellent blackwater ripple effect that will get you a lot of bites. Chris also mentioned that his was getting bit just about every time it was in the spread from both the Stinger & Long Rigger positions with a great hook-up ratio.
This isn't just a beautiful bait to look at, and it's also not just a Tuna bait - It will produce a lot of Billfish from Striped Marlin to Black Marlin to Blue Marlin.
So there you go. If you haven't ordered one of these yet, they come in 3 different sizes (7", 9", & Large 12"). We've had a lot of great feedback on them, and we expect that this will make a run at the top list for 2023 once again.
