Joe Yee Lures Real MOP Peanut 7" 2.2oz Brand New Pre-Owned

Joe Yee sadly passed away at the age of 96 on August 30, 2024. For the last decade or so, his grandson Steven Kegley has been handling distribution of his lures while working with him in his shop. Since his passing, Steven has been cleaning his lures that he either made recently or has been sitting on shelves, which this lure here is one example.

If you've seen our video of Joe's personal shop when Chris Donato interviewed him (check out our YouTube channel), you will see that there is a massive assortment of lures from over the decades still in his shop. That being said, for the time being, we are still offering Joe's handmade lures. Steven has begun making some of his own as well under the label "Joe Yee Lures by Kegz", so you will easily be able to identify which ones are made by Joe and which ones are made by Steven. You can be confident that these here were in fact made by Joe Yee himself.

Joe Yee's Peanut is easily one of their smallest baits they make with a head length of roughly 1.5" and weight around 2.5oz. These small baits have done wonders over the years on Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and Billfish including Blue Marlin.

Historically, these have been made with a cut face/slanted nose, scoop face, and even a flat nose - both jetted and non-jetted. 

These have been very hard to find over the last 20 years, so we are stoked to be able to offer these to you all.

A quote from George Parker in the Joe Yee book: "The Peanut was a real surprise to us all. I knew fish would strike it but had no idea how many big fish would be caught on it. I think Joe must have sold those things by the hundreds."
