JB Signature Lures

JB Signature Lures

JB Signature Lures are handmade by Dave Harrison in Jervis Bay, Australia. Each lure is individually airbrushed and hand finished by Dave, with painstaking attention to detail.

Dave started making lures in the late 80’s for himself and friends, then began selling them in 1993 after requests from fellow anglers. His original shapes soon gained a reputation in Australia winning numerous tournaments and catching record breaking fish.

JB Signature Lures are a new series created by Dave, that are a little different from his original lures. With realistic looking, keel weighted fish head inserts and water clear resin, they almost look alive in the water. The shapes are also different being asymmetrical, similar in profile to a real baitfish. This asymmetrical shape and keel weight ensures they always run true with an enticing action

The first JB Signature Lure on offer is the “Barrel Bomb”. Similar in profile to a bullet but with flatter sides and a slightly flat surface under the chin which makes the Barrel Bomb skitter along the surface when it breaths, before diving with a slim bubble trail and rippling under the surface like a traditional bullet. The slim profile and keel weighting allows the Barrel Bomb to run in all sea conditions and can handle speeds up to 15 knots on calm days. This easy running lure is a great all-rounder and runs well on the long corner, long rigger or out back in the shotgun (stinger) position. The hole at the back of the lure head has been enlarged and acts as a hook lock. Just wrap some tape around the crimp and pull it into the hole locking the hook in position. Barrel Bombs run best when rigged with a single hook.

And fish certainly like eating them. Species caught to date include Marlin, Sailfish, Spearfish, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Mackerel and Yellowtail Kingfish.

The second lure, known as the Cruiser, is a plunger shaped head with deep front taper towards a slanted nose. The nose is fairly small because of the deep taper and has a slight scoop added to the profile. Comes in three different sizes in Small (7"), Medium (9"), and Large (12"). Catches many different species including Mahi Mahi/Dorado, various species of Tuna, Wahoo, and Marlin as well as other Billfish.

This asymmetrical shaped and keel weighted lure is based on a modified profile of a real baitfish. With proportions somewhere between a plunger and a bullet with an angled face and a gentle scoop, this weapon has a very realistic swimming action that rips the surface when it breathes. With an ideal trolling speed of 7-10 knots in all conditions the Cruiser will still swim great up to 15 knots on those calm days. Originally designed as a long corner lure, it also runs great on the riggers.

New to late 2020, the Thumper is a keel weighted lure with proportions similar to a short plunger, but with an asymmetrical profile not cylindrical. This profile gives the
Thumper larger shoulders towards the front of the lure which then tapers
down towards the tail, giving it an aggressive surface ripping splash before diving with a nice tight enticing action.

The Thumper is an aggressive yet easy to run lure with great stability, with an
ideal trolling speed of 7-10 knots in all sea conditions. Awesome lure on the
short rigger or corner, but runs great anywhere in the spread. The hole at the back of the lure head has been enlarged and acts as a hook lock. Just wrap some tape around the crimp and pull it into the hole locking the hook in position. Thumpers run best when rigged with a single hook. They come in both a Medium 9" & Large 12" size with color-shift flake inserts.

The Plunger is another new lure head from the JB Signature Lures collection. As the name suggests this is a “plunger” style lure but our keel weighted version is slightly shorter and blunter than more traditional plungers, which makes it push more water. Another difference is the profile, it’s asymmetrical not cylindrical like traditional lures. This profile gives the Plunger larger shoulders towards the front of the lure which then tapers down towards the tail, giving the lure a nice enticing shimmy to its action.

The Plunger is a great all-rounder with a nice easy running consistent action and great stability, with an ideal trolling speed of 7-10 knots in most sea conditions. Awesome lure on the long corner or long rigger, but runs great anywhere in the spread. The hole at the back of the lure head has been enlarged and acts as a hook lock. Just wrap some tape around the crimp and pull it into the hole locking the hook in position. Plungers run best when rigged with a single hook. They come in both a 9" Medium size & 12" Large size with fish head inserts.
