What more can be said about this lure? Arguably our most in-demand lure across the board since we started carrying Joe Yee's products 5 years ago, with the Niiyama Aku being second.
At 95 years old, despite what anyone claims, Joe Yee continues to produce lures. We can say without probably getting too controversial that lure making is what keeps Joe Yee going - It's his passion, his purpose, and it's probably safe to say it's also in his blood. (You play around with resin long enough, there's probably some scientifical truth there. Probably.)
I had the pleasure of seeing Joe Yee's shop in person in 2021, and the best way to describe it is a museum in a shop format. While Joe is still producing lures, and while most of the products we release from them were recently made, there are plenty of older gems still resting on racks just waiting for their day to shine.
Steven Kegley, Joe Yee's grandson, has a very special relationship with Joe, assisting him with operations and distribution as well as being schooled as the next-in-line in the Joe Yee family. He's also one of the most humble men we've ever personally met, particularly in business.
It must also be noted that a couple of these showcased fish head Super Plungers (pink/silver glitter & ice blue Aku head) are collaborations with Mr. Jon Niiyama, lure maker behind the Niiyama Lures brand. Their collaborative fish heads have easily been some of our most in demand Super Plungers and deserve special mention.
